Campaign

I want to shine light on how important I feel it is to better your mental health through walking outdoors. I am one who loves to be active and also loves seeing the natural beauty of the earth. Not once have I felt worse after going on a walk down by the beach or in a forest with many trees because I am able to take a look around me and find friendly faces or even just appreciate the true beauty of the great outdoors, which always makes me feel grateful for the life I live. This is not an exclusive activity, it is something that anyone can do alone or with a group of friends, and I truly believe that it serves as a free therapy session.

Community Visit
Visiting my community was just as simple as going on one of my walks. During my community visit, I was able to touch base with one of my peers here at TCU and ask her some questions regarding walking and mental health.
Interview
Interview with Liz

Me: Do you go on walks often?

Liz: Yes.

Me: Would you say one of the main reasons you go on walks is to spend time outside?

Liz: Usually, yes.

Me: After going on a walk, do you feel better mentally?

Liz: Yes 100% of the time

Me: Do you prefer to go on walks by yourself or with other people?

Liz: Usually I like to go with other people, but that doesn’t work out sometimes just because everyone’s schedule is so different with school and everything. I do still like to go on walks by myself and I find it to be very therapeutic.
